KUCCPS Placement Results: How students can check university and college offers

The wait for thousands of students seeking admission to universities and colleges is nearing an end, with candidates set to confirm their placement details through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) student portal once final results are released.

The placement agency has advised applicants to use the official KUCCPS platform when checking their results and avoid links shared through unverified social media accounts, text messages or individuals claiming to have access to placement information.

Students will be able to confirm the institution and course they have been assigned by logging into their KUCCPS accounts. The portal will display key details, including the university or college where a candidate has been placed and the programme offered.

To access the placement information, applicants should follow these steps:

1. Visit the official KUCCPS website at kuccps.ac.ke.

2. Select the Student’s Portal option available on the website.

3. Enter the KCSE index number used during the application process.

4. Provide the year the KCSE examination was taken.

5. Enter the portal password.

6. Click the login button to access the account.

7. Check the dashboard for placement details, including the institution allocated and the course offered.

Students who have never changed their KUCCPS portal password should use their KCPE index number or birth certificate number as the password. Those who changed their password during the application or revision period should use the new password they created.

KUCCPS may also send placement updates through the telephone number provided by applicants during the application process. However, candidates have been advised to log into the portal and confirm their details to avoid relying only on text notifications.

After confirming their placement, students will be required to visit the websites of their respective universities or colleges to access admission letters and joining instructions.

KUCCPS does not issue admission letters or joining documents. The responsibility of providing these documents lies with individual institutions where students have been placed. The letters will contain important details such as reporting dates, fee structures and other requirements needed before admission.

The 2026 placement exercise mainly targeted candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examination as well as Form Four leavers from previous years who were seeking opportunities in universities, colleges and TVET institutions.

According to KUCCPS, 268,700 candidates from the 2025 KCSE class attained a mean grade of C+ and above, qualifying them for placement into degree programmes.

Candidates who scored grades ranging from A to E were also eligible to apply for diploma, certificate, artisan and other Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.

The KUCCPS application portal opened on April 7 and closed on May 6, 2026, allowing candidates to select their preferred courses and institutions.

Placement was based on students’ KCSE performance, the courses they selected, merit and the available capacity in universities and colleges.

KUCCPS has urged students and parents to rely on official announcements and avoid paying individuals who claim they can reveal, influence or change placement results.

The agency warned applicants against fraudsters seeking money by promising to manipulate placement outcomes, noting that placement is handled through the official system.
