Chicago has been ranked the world’s most climate-resilient major city, with Addis Ababa second and Nairobi 10th in AlphaGeo’s September 2026 assessment.
Three African cities made the top 20, while Ahmedabad and Hyderabad in India were among the least resilient.
The index assessed 72 major cities based on exposure to floods, extreme heat and drought, as well as their infrastructure and ability to adapt
