World Cup champions to receive custom rings in FIFA first

The FIFA World Cup 2026 champions will leave New York-New Jersey Stadium with more than just football's most coveted trophy after FIFA introduced bespoke championship rings for the tournament winners.

In a first for any FIFA competition, the 2026 World Cup winners will also be awarded bespoke championship rings, adding an iconic American sporting tradition to football's biggest tournament.

According to a FIFA update released on July 16, 2026, the rings will be produced in a limited edition of 2,026 individually numbered pieces as a tribute to the 2026 World Cup. Thirty rings will be reserved for the champions, while the remaining 1,996 will be sold to fans worldwide as official licensed merchandise.

Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side, while the other side will be customised with the identity of the winning nation. Every ring will be individually numbered, custom-fitted, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Following the final, the winning team's captain and head coach will receive temporary rings during the on-field celebrations.

The 30 championship rings will then be tailored to each recipient before being formally presented at a later date, creating a personalised keepsake to mark their historic triumph.
