The meeting comes amid renewed debate over the readiness of the IEBC following recent appointments to the commission and ongoing preparations for the next general election cycle.
Speaking at the UDA National Governing Council meeting at State House, Ruto said the law granting autonomy to county assemblies has already been signed and is now operational, though the process of separating the budgets will be implemented in the next budget cycle.
In a notice dated January 22 and issued by the party’s National Elections Board (NEB), UDA invited qualified and interested members to register as participants in the UDA Aspirants’ Forum, a body mandated to guide the party’s nomination process ahead of the next general election.
The NGC will deliberate on key political and governance matters when it meets next week, including the implementation of the government’s manifesto, party elections, and ongoing political engagements.

Each beneficiary will receive Sh25,000 in the first phase, split between Pochi la Biashara and the National Social Security Fund’s Haba na Haba savings account, with a second phase set to raise the total support to Sh50,000 per entrepreneur.
