In a public notice issued Thursday, the county said a 100 percent waiver will apply to all visitors accessing Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Shaba National Reserve and Bisanadi National Reserve.
Speaking at City Hall on Tuesday, Receiver of Revenue Tiras Njoroge explained that the waiver was extended to accommodate landowners who turned up before the previous deadline.
The chamber informed its members that they must submit their applications by December 6, 2025 to enjoy the full waiver. The relief package targets containerised cargo that has stayed in the port or customs warehouses for extended periods, often due to delayed documentation, financial hurdles or stalled clearance procedures.
The remarks came shortly after Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen issued a gazette notice confirming a six-month waiver on all charges related to ID replacement and correction of information. The directive, which took effect immediately, was issued under the amended Registration of Persons (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
The directive was formally communicated through a special gazette notice dated October 31, 2025, signed by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen. The notice states that the waiver takes effect immediately and applies to all citizens seeking a replacement of their national ID cards.
Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome said the move is aimed at clearing the backlog of uncollected titles.
Of the 15 postmortems done so far, 14 showed the cause of death was gunshot injuries.
