The senator accused the Registrar of Political Parties of unfairly blocking the opposition from using the name, saying the group would continue exploring other options instead of abandoning its push.
The concerns followed an IEBC notice issued on Thursday setting October 15, 2026, as the deadline for political parties planning to take part in the General Election to submit the names and specimen signatures of their authorised officials.

The latest warning was issued on Friday as the movement continued its grassroots mobilisation in Busia County, where its leaders held a number of political rallies and sought to strengthen their support in the region.
Justice Roselyne Aburili dismissed the case without considering the claims raised by the petitioners, saying the law clearly sets out where such disputes should begin. The judge said the High Court could only be approached after the available legal process before the tribunal had been exhausted.

The decision means the National Executive Committee (NEC) resolution adopted on June 22, 2026, removing Sifuna from the party's top administrative position, remains operational for now.
The move follows approval from the party’s National Executive Committee meeting held last week.
