The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority says its technical teams are closely tracking changes in weather and climate conditions and will continue issuing forecasts, advisories and updates to national and county governments, humanitarian and development organisations, the media and the public.
Counties expected to experience rain include Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Kakamega, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kericho, Nyandarua, Nyeri and Murang'a.
The department said Nairobi and several Central Kenya counties will experience intermittent cool and cloudy conditions with occasional light rainfall, drizzle and fog as the June-July-August cold season gradually comes to an end.
Kenya’s weather office forecasts mostly dry, warmer conditions over the next three months, with El Niño conditions most likely in June-July-August but rainfall boost expected later, alongside monitoring of the Indian Ocean Dipole.
In the north-western counties of Turkana and Samburu, the forecast points to generally sunny conditions during the day, with partly cloudy skies at night. However, northern parts of Turkana may still experience occasional showers in the morning and at night.
Kenya will see scattered rain from 24–30 March 2026, with amounts easing as the week progresses. Several regions face daytime heat above 30°C, while central highlands see cooler nights below 10°C.
