According to the Auditor-General’s report for the financial year ended June 30, 2025, PPRA trained 9,136 stakeholders and procurement practitioners from primary and secondary schools. The exercise cost Sh911,108,000, translating to an average expenditure of approximately Sh99,713 per participant.
EACC has moved to the High Court seeking recovery of Sh111,577,188.75, six vehicles and a parcel of land from Mbeti North Ward representative Peter Murithi Nyaga, who also serves as the Embu County Assembly Majority Leader.
The issue is contained in the Auditor-General's report for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, which found that the State Department for Health acquired the devices despite the procurement not appearing in its annual procurement plan.
Construction of the hostel began after Sasah General Merchants won the tender in February 2010 at a contract price of Sh663.9 million. The project was expected to take three years but certified payments later climbed to Sh844.1 million.
The clarification comes as public attention remains fixed on the procurement process for the JKIA expansion, one of the government’s biggest planned infrastructure projects aimed at increasing the airport’s capacity to handle growing passenger and cargo volumes.
