In the appointments, President Ruto named Dr. Olang’o Onudi as the non-executive chairperson of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital Board.
The changes, effective November 4, 2025, were announced in a Gazette notice issued by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
The announcement was made through Gazette Notice No. 15945, following the expiry of Ambassador Anthony Muchiri’s term.
The President acknowledged that progress has been made in areas such as poverty reduction, education, and health, but warned that “persistent and widening inequality within and among nations continues to erode these very gains.”
Speaking in Doha, Qatar, at the Second World Summit for Social Development, the President, who addressed the gathering on behalf of the African Group of States said tackling these challenges “is not an act of charity but justice for humanity.”
