Police told Molo Resident Magistrate Christine Mugo on Tuesday that they needed more time to complete DNA tests on samples collected from the scene, conduct a post-mortem examination and subject the suspect to a mental health assessment.

Investigators said the exact circumstances that led to Wanundu’s death had not yet been established, with the post-mortem expected to help determine the cause and manner of his death.

One other victim has yet to be identified and remains at the City Mortuary.
Human rights groups and lawyers representing the family are now putting pressure on the Independent Policing Oversight Authority to act without delay.
