The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change met Somo Africa to discuss a partnership linked to creating 100,000 green jobs, including school environmental education, solar-powered agro-processing and improved farmer credit.
The two agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral collaboration on anti-corruption initiatives, marking a significant step in deepening institutional ties between Kenya and South Africa.
In a clear commitment, the county pledged to reclassify 20 doctors from Job Group M to Job Group Q, with the new letters scheduled for release by December 17, 2025. This change comes as part of a broader plan to motivate staff and ensure that qualified professionals are properly recognized within the county’s health system.
As part of the deal, a Centre of Excellence on Clean Transport Systems in Africa will be set up in Kenya. The centre is expected to lead efforts in research, knowledge sharing, and development of clean mobility solutions across the region.
The Former Prime Minister urged all political players to allow the process to continue without interruptions.
ODM said the team will also focus on other key issues in the agreement, including protecting young people’s rights and ensuring peaceful assembly is upheld.
