Speaking during the destruction of methamphetamine in Bamburi on Thursday, Murkomen said 385,875 litres of the alcohol seized since President William Ruto issued a directive in January had already been destroyed.
The consignment was intercepted in October 2025 in an operation involving the Kenya Coast Guard Service and other security agencies.

The charge sheet indicates that Juma Mwinyifaki Juma faces trafficking charges involving 2,601 grams of methamphetamine, valued at Sh20.8 million. Peter Kipng’etich Tonui and Mustafa Salim Johari are charged with conspiracy to traffic narcotic drugs.
The accused, Duke Nyamwaya, Juma Mwinyifaki, Michael Kariuki, Elijah Mbogo Gacog’u, James Ekiru, Abdulrehman Salad, and Abdirahman Abdi Kuno, allegedly trafficked 25 kilograms of methamphetamine, reportedly packed in whitish crystalline packets.
