Kindiki, who is leading campaigns for UDA candidate Leonard Muriuki Wamuthende, claimed some opposition figures had resorted to incitement to destabilise the area during the election period.
In a statement released in on Thursday, Ruku accused the former Deputy President of spreading hate speech and engaging in political theatrics aimed at stirring emotions and misleading the public.
The exchange followed Gachagua’s letter to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, in which he raised concerns about alleged threats to his safety ahead of the Mbeere North by-election. In the letter, he pointed to what he called imminent violence, citing widely circulated videos on social media and demanding swift police action.
In a letter dated November 12, Gachagua, who now leads the Democratic Change Party (DCP), alleged that groups linked to Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku were issuing threats against him and his supporters in the constituency.
