The arrest followed investigations by detectives from DCI Samburu North after several complaints were reported at Baragoi Police Station. Investigators later identified Oduor as a key suspect in the fraud scheme.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspect, Joshua Mutui Muimi, had upgraded himself from civilian to ‘KDF brigadier’ without ever seeing a parade square, using a fabricated military identity to extort money from unsuspecting Kenyans.
The CDF underlined that integrity and discipline are the foundation of military service, warning that violating these principles damages the reputation and professionalism of the forces. He urged the public to remain alert and report any individuals or groups claiming to offer recruitment slots for money.
