In a statement issued on Monday, Judiciary Spokesperson Paul Ndemo said the institution did not consider the proposed boycott an appropriate response to the concerns raised by lawyers, warning that the action would primarily harm litigants and other court users awaiting the hearing and determination of their cases.
Justice Ndung’u said she accepted the nomination “with humility and gratitude,” adding that she is “proud to do so as a Kenyan dedicated her professional life to the service of Justice and the global and the protection of human dignity.”
While acknowledging progress in automation, case management, and alternative dispute resolution, Kindiki emphasized the importance of maintaining judicial independence.
