ELOG deployed 100 mobile observers across 22 electoral areas, covering both urban and rural regions. The team monitored key stages of the electoral process—including the opening, voting, closing, and counting of ballots—and submitted real-time reports through digital tools.
The group also wants the commission to confirm whether a Data Protection Impact Assessment was conducted before the iris scan system was introduced and to clarify which systems or external parties, if any, can access the biometric data, as well as the safeguards in place to prevent misuse.
Mulle Musau, National Coordinator of the Elections Observation Group (ELOG) stressed that with less than two years to the polls, many critical tasks, including finalizing electoral boundaries, remain incomplete.
