The suspect, Patrick Gacoki Muembe, and his two accomplices, who are still at large, allegedly pounced on the unsuspecting teacher, bundling him into a vehicle, before subjecting him to a harrowing ordeal as they drove him around in circles.
According to police, the two are believed to be part of a ruthless gang that has been preying on innocent motorists in a series of late-night ambushes that left travellers terrified and property lost.
The suspects, Peter Muriithi, Catherine Kinyua, Lilian Njeri, and Samuel Mbuthia were nabbed in Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi County, after fleecing their victim under the guise of SHA membership registration.
