The weather outlook for 25 to 31 August shows that parts of the Coast, eastern and western regions are likely to receive rain, while some central counties are expected to experience intermittent cool and cloudy conditions.

The department's weekly forecast issued on Monday shows rain is likely in Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga, Baringo, Bomet, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kericho, Nakuru, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Busia, Homa Bay, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Narok, Nyamira, Siaya, Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Garissa, Marsabit, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu, Mombasa and the coastal parts of Tana River County.
In its weekly weather outlook issued on Tuesday, the department said weather conditions will vary across regions, with some areas likely to experience intermittent rainfall while others remain largely sunny and partly cloudy.
Counties in the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and the wider Rift Valley region are likely to record morning rains in some areas before afternoon showers and thunderstorms develop.
Counties expected to experience showers and thunderstorms include Nandi, Kakamega, Kisumu, Narok, Nyeri, Kiambu, Nairobi, Meru and Embu, among others.
