In the first case, Resident Magistrate Hon. Green Odera sentenced 32-year-old Darius Mboga, also known as Kevo, after convicting him on three counts of defilement contrary to Sections 8(3) and 8(4) of the Sexual Offences Act. He was also found guilty on three counts of committing an indecent act contrary to Section 11(1) of the Act.
The operation began after officers acted on intelligence that pointed to a network distributing narcotics in Mombasa. Detectives first moved in on 43-year-old Tito Paul Mulu in the Port Reitz area of Changamwe, where he was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in drug distribution.
Changamwe Police Commander Patrick Gogo said officers traced the group to Zion Fire Annointing Ministries, where the individuals were found cut off from the outside world. He explained that the operation was part of a broader security effort that began last Wednesday, targeting suspected illegal religious gatherings in the area.
