Police recover stolen motorcycles, arrest three suspects in Kilifi operation

Police officers from Kambe Ribe Police Station in Kilifi County have arrested three suspects and recovered two motorcycles believed to have been stolen during an operation in Kaloleni.

The arrests followed a report from a resident who told officers that his motorcycle had just been stolen from his home.

The officers were on routine patrol along Kipara Mwakirunge Road when they were approached by the distressed resident.

Acting on the information, police promptly initiated a tracker search for the motorcycle in the area.

The search led officers to a hideout beneath a nearby bridge, where they apprehended three suspects.

During a search of the area, police recovered the motorcycle belonging to the complainant, along with a second motorcycle also believed to have been stolen.

The three suspects were taken to Kambe Ribe Police Station, where they remain in custody as they await arraignment.

The National Police Service said the operation demonstrated the importance of cooperation between members of the public and law enforcement agencies in addressing crime.

“The NPS remains committed to maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and fostering safe neighbourhoods across the country,” the service said.

Police also encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The NPS urged residents to use the available emergency channels when seeking police assistance, including the emergency numbers 999 and 911.

Members of the public can also report information anonymously through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations' #FichuaKwaDCI hotline on 0800 722 203 or via WhatsApp on 0709 570 000.

The recovery of the two motorcycles comes as police continue efforts to tackle theft and other crimes through patrols and intelligence-led operations.

Authorities said public cooperation remains important in helping law enforcement officers respond quickly to reports of crime and protect property.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned as police continue processing the case.
