Technology professionals, founders and investors will converge in Nairobi in November for the first Muslim Tech Expo Kenya, an event organisers say will provide a dedicated space for Muslim professionals in the country’s growing technology sector.
The expo will be held on November 21, 2026, at The Edge Convention Centre in South C, with more than 500 participants expected to attend.
Organised by Muslim Tech Expo, powered by Barnaamaj in partnership with Esoteric Strats, the event will bring together software engineers, founders, product managers, investors, digital leaders and students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The organisers say the expo is intended to address a gap in Kenya’s technology industry by giving Muslim professionals a platform to showcase their work, build connections and explore business and investment opportunities.

Despite its focus on the Muslim technology community, the event will be open to professionals, companies and organisations from all backgrounds.
Themed “Where Faith Meets Innovation: Powering Africa’s Next Generation of Tech Leaders,” the expo will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, technology exhibitions and networking sessions.
Ahmed Siyad Abdirahman, Convener and Event Director of Muslim Tech Expo Kenya, said the event was designed for professionals who have been looking for a platform that connects their community with opportunities in the technology sector.
“If you're in tech and you've ever felt like there's no event that truly speaks to your community and your ambition, this is it. MTE Kenya is not just a conference. It's the room you've been waiting for. Be there on November 21,” he said.
More than 50 exhibitors and six sponsorship partners are expected to take part, with food vendors also set to be available during the event.
The expo is the first international expansion of Muslim Tech Expo, which was founded by Barnaamaj in Nigeria. Its previous editions recorded more than 800 attendees at MTE 1.0, over 1,500 at MTE 2.0 and more than 1,200 at MTE 3.0.
Organisers are also seeking partnerships with companies and organisations that want to engage technology professionals, founders and emerging digital leaders.
Abdirahman said businesses that partner with the event would have an opportunity to connect directly with a growing pool of technology professionals and potential customers.
“For brands and organisations looking to connect with Africa's next generation of tech leaders, there is no other platform offering this kind of access. MTE Kenya gives you a direct line to a high-trust, high-value professional community that no one else is building for. The partners who come in now will own this space,” he said.
Early-bird tickets are selling at Sh2,000, while regular tickets will cost Sh3,500 and late tickets Sh5,000.
The organisers expect the Nairobi expo to give participants a chance to discover new technologies, present their products, build professional networks and explore opportunities in Africa’s digital economy.
