Moroccan and French journalists clash ahead of World Cup quarter-final

A Moroccan and a French journalist were reportedly involved in a heated altercation in the press conference room at Boston Stadium ahead of Thursday's FIFA World Cup quarter-final between Morocco and France in Foxborough.

The incident occurred during Morocco's pre-match press conference while Brahim Diaz was speaking to the media.

According to reports, one of the journalists was heard shouting: "But why did you hit me? But why did you hit me? You can't hit me."

Diaz was left stunned as the confrontation interrupted his response midway through a question.

FIFA officials and Moroccan media officers were forced to intervene and restore order before the press conference resumed.

The incident ended on a lighter note when Diaz, after being asked to continue, laughed and admitted: "I forgot the question."

The former Manchester City midfielder has been under scrutiny since missing a penalty in Morocco's Africa Cup of Nations final defeat in January.
