IEBC announces resumption of enhanced voter registration exercise in Ol-Kalou

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the commencement of Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) in Ol-Kalou Constituency.

The commission said the enhanced registration exercise will run from Monday, September 21, to Tuesday, October 20, 2026, giving eligible residents an opportunity to register as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“The IEBC gives notice that there will be enhanced continuous voter registration of voters from Monday, 21st September, 2026 to Tuesday 20th October, 2026, in Ol-Kalou Constituency,” the commission said in a public notice.

According to the notice, registration services under the ECVR programme will be available every day throughout the exercise.

The commission said the services will be offered from Monday to Sunday during the registration period to improve accessibility for eligible residents seeking to register.

The exercise will be conducted at County Assembly Ward level, allowing residents to access registration services within their respective electoral areas. Registration will also be available at the Ol-Kalou Constituency Office, Huduma Centres and institutions of higher learning located within the specified electoral areas.

The IEBC will additionally provide registration services at its Customer Experience Centre on the ground floor of Anniversary Towers.

The expanded registration points are intended to provide eligible voters with multiple locations where they can complete the registration process during the month-long exercise.

The commission has urged eligible residents in Ol-Kalou Constituency to take advantage of the ECVR exercise and register within the stipulated period.

The exercise forms part of the IEBC’s preparations to maintain and update the national Register of Voters ahead of future electoral activities.

The commission said that once the ECVR exercise concludes on October 20, Continuous Voter Registration and regular revision of the Register of Voters will resume at the Constituency Office.

Under the regular CVR arrangement, registration services will be available from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. The services will be offered between 8am and 5pm at the Constituency Office.

The IEBC’s announcement comes as preparations for the next General Election continue, with voter registration remaining a key component of the electoral process.

The enhanced exercise provides an opportunity for eligible residents who are not currently registered voters to be added to the register, while the regular revision process will allow for continued updates to voter records.

The commission said the ECVR exercise would be conducted at ward level as well as through selected public service facilities and institutions within Ol-Kalou Constituency.

The IEBC has previously used enhanced voter registration exercises to bring registration services closer to communities and increase access to the electoral process.

Eligible residents seeking to register during the exercise will therefore have several locations to choose from, with services available throughout the seven days of the week during the ECVR period.

The commission urged residents to take note of the dates and registration locations and participate in the exercise before its conclusion on October 20.

After the enhanced exercise, those seeking registration or wishing to have their details updated will continue accessing the service at the Ol-Kalou Constituency Office on weekdays from 8am to 5pm, except on public holidays.
