Gor Mahia will take on newly promoted National Super League champions Migori Youth in the inaugural Green Legacy Cup at Nyayo National Stadium this afternoon.
The charity match, organised by the ZamZam Foundation, kicks off at 3 pm and will serve as a final pre-season test for both sides ahead of the 2026/27 KPL season.
Proceeds from the match will support environmental conservation and food security initiatives.
Gor Mahia head into the encounter seeking to recover from their 2-1 extra-time defeat to Rayon Sports in the CECAFA Kagame Cup final in Rwanda.
Coach Charles Akonnor will, however, have to cope with several injuries, with Samuel Kapen, Felix Oluoch, captain Sylvester Owino and Patrick Essombe all sidelined.
The Kenyan champions will welcome the return of new signings Portiphar Odhiambo and Ugandan forward Dennis Omedi, who have been cleared to make their debuts.
Migori Youth, meanwhile, will use the match to assess their squad ahead of their first top-flight campaign under coach Salim Babu.
The club has added former AFC Leopards forward Christopher Koloti and Tusker FC midfielder Dennis Oguta to its squad, with both players expected to feature.
The match will be the first meeting between Gor Mahia and Migori Youth in all competitions.
Gor Mahia will next face Tusker in the FKF Super Cup before beginning their CAF Champions League campaign against Pyramids FC of Egypt in September.
