Safaricom-sponsored golfer Samuel Chege won the sixth leg of the PGK Equator Tour at Nakuru Golf Club, carding 280 (-12) over four rounds to claim his second title of the season.
The Thika Sports Club player finished ahead of seasoned professional Dismas Indiza, who carded 286 (-6), while Mutahi Kibugu was third on 287 (-5).
Chege, who previously won the second leg at his home club, has strengthened his lead in the Order of Merit with 3,852 points.
“It feels great to win here in Nakuru. The last time we played here, I finished second and was very close to winning. Coming back this year and finishing first makes this victory even more special,” Chege said.
Chege said his determination to win helped him overcome the competitive field.
“I came here determined to win, and I am really happy to see the hard work I have put into my game paying off,” he said.
Isaiah Otuke finished fourth on 288 (-4), while Mohit Mediratta and Daniel Nduva tied for fifth on 289 (-3).
The tour now moves to Sigona Golf Club for the seventh leg, with players seeking crucial Order of Merit points and qualification opportunities for the Magical Kenya Open and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
