Facebook users across Kenya are experiencing access problems on desktop browsers, with many reporting they are unable to log into the platform even as the mobile application continues to work normally.
Users attempting to access Facebook through laptops and desktop computers, particularly on Windows devices, are being met with an error message stating that their accounts are temporarily unavailable.
"Your account is temporarily unavailable. Due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes," the message reads.
The disruption appears to be affecting browser-based access rather than the mobile app, prompting a wave of complaints on social media and messaging platforms from frustrated users.
According to observations from users across the country, reports of the outage began rising sharply from around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.
While there are no immediate indications of a global Facebook outage, the problem appears to be affecting a significant number of users in Kenya accessing the platform through web browsers.
A screenshot shared by affected users shows Facebook displaying the "Account Temporarily Unavailable" notice on the browser version of the site.

Meta, Facebook's parent company, has not yet issued an official statement on the reported disruption, and the cause of the outage remains unclear.
