Detectives have rescued 48 women in separate operations targeting alleged sexual exploitation and obscene content production in Ongata Rongai and Kiserian.
Police recovered laptops, mobile phones and other equipment believed to have been used in the offences, while investigations continue to identify suspects and dismantle criminal networks operating in the two neighbouring towns across Kajiado County.
In a statement on Friday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the operations were carried out following public tip-offs and intelligence reports linking properties in the two towns to activities involving sexual exploitation, prostitution and the production of explicit online content.
In Ongata Rongai's Rimpa area, detectives raided a house believed to have been used for the commercial production of obscene material.
According to the DCI, officers found 30 women aged between 19 and 27 inside the premises after acting on information provided by members of the public.
The agency said investigators recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras alongside other equipment believed to have been used to produce obscene content.
The suspects were taken into custody at Ongata Rongai Police Station, where investigations are continuing ahead of their planned court appearance.
"In the fight against sexual exploitation and the production of obscene material, detectives have ramped up their operations in Kiserian and Ongata Rongai, uncovering shocking enterprises preying on our young women. In a raid on a house believed to be a den for the commercial production of explicit content in Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai, police acted swiftly on tips from the members of the public and found 30 women, aged 19 to 27, trapped in a nightmarish scheme," the DCI stated.
In a separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian, detectives responded to intelligence indicating that young women had allegedly been recruited using false promises of domestic employment before being subjected to sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.
Police said 18 women were rescued during the operation through a joint effort involving officers from Kiserian and Rongai police stations.
Mobile phones, laptops and other items believed to have been used in the commission of the alleged offences were recovered and secured as exhibits.
Investigators said the principal suspect remains at large, with detectives pursuing leads to locate and arrest the individual.
The DCI added that the rescued women had been placed under police protection as arrangements were made to secure safe accommodation and provide them with comprehensive support services.
According to the agency, the women will receive holistic care, including psychosocial counselling, medical attention and other assistance aimed at safeguarding their wellbeing, preserving their dignity and supporting their reintegration into society.
The DCI remains committed to dismantling criminal networks involved in sexual exploitation and the commercial production of obscene material.
Investigations into both cases are ongoing as detectives seek to establish the full scope of the alleged operations, identify additional suspects and ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice.
