Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have officially become husband and wife, with the football icon choosing the Portuguese coastal town of Cascais for a low-key wedding after weeks of speculation about the couple's plans.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo and Rodriguez, 32, exchanged vows on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by their five children. The player's public relations firm, Brunswick Group, described the event as "private and intimate."
Ronaldo later appeared to confirm the marriage on Instagram, posting a picture showing the couple's hands with their wedding rings. He captioned the image: "C (heart) G".
The wedding came a year after Rodriguez publicly announced their engagement on Instagram, marking a new stage in their relationship, which began in 2016.
The couple first met in Madrid when Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store. Rodriguez has previously described their first encounter as "love at first sight", saying the relationship quickly developed into a deep connection.

Speaking to Vogue Arabia in 2025, Rodriguez recalled feeling "a sense of peace and an inexplicable energy" around Ronaldo, adding that it was "as if we had known each other forever".
Their wedding location had been the subject of intense attention in Portugal in the days leading up to the ceremony. Reports had pointed to Sintra, near Lisbon, and Funchal in Madeira as possible venues.
Funchal, Ronaldo's birthplace, became the centre of speculation last weekend after reports suggested the ceremony could take place there. Hundreds of people reportedly gathered outside the city's cathedral hoping to see the couple.
The cathedral had earlier told AFP that it did not have a wedding ceremony booked for Ronaldo. It nevertheless said that hosting the event would have been "an honour".
The couple eventually settled on Cascais, an elite seaside destination around 30 kilometres west of Lisbon. They own a villa in the resort, which provided a private setting away from the crowds that had gathered in other locations.
Ronaldo remains one of football's biggest names and currently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr. The Portugal captain has previously represented Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus and has won the Ballon d'Or five times.
Rodriguez has also built a major following of her own through fashion, social media and television. Her Netflix series "I am Georgina" gives viewers a look into the family's life, including their experiences with football, travel and fashion.
The couple have more than 750 million followers across their social media accounts, making them one of the most widely followed celebrity partnerships in the world.
Their profile has also grown through business ventures, with the pair linked to investments in fashion brands and a hotel chain, extending their public presence well beyond Ronaldo's football career.
